The LGRP® KINETIX Series Shocks were engineered from the ground up to deliver exceptional suspension performance, tuning capability, and durability for the Axial® SCX24™ platform. Designed specifically for high-performance micro crawler builds, the KINETIX Series combines premium materials, advanced suspension tuning, and innovative engineering into one compact package.

At the heart of the KINETIX Series shock is the industry's first true adjustable dual-rate spring system for an RC shock. Inspired by 1:1 off-road race shocks, the included adjustable secondary spring crossover rings let you precisely control when the secondary spring engages throughout the shock travel — a level of suspension tuning never before available on a micro crawler, letting you fine-tune ride height, side-hill stability, controlled shock extension and compression, and overall vehicle feel to match your driving style.

KINETIX shocks are machined from T-7075 aluminum, including the shock body, top cap, and lower rod end, providing outstanding strength while maintaining exceptionally smooth operation. Low-friction injection molded secondary nuts and spring dividers minimize drag during suspension cycling, while the X-ring seal design helps improve fluid retention and reduce the likelihood of leaks. The series uses a non-bladder emulsion design with a true six-hole piston retained by E-clips rather than molded directly to the shaft, improving consistency, reliability, and long-term serviceability while allowing the shock to be completely rebuilt and tuned as needed.

Oil-Ready, Not Pre-Filled: These shocks arrive fully assembled and oil-ready. They are not pre-filled with shock oil, letting you choose the oil weight that best suits your driving style and terrain. A small amount of assembly lubricant is applied during manufacturing to protect the seals and ensure smooth operation during assembly.

These are oil-ready shocks. Each shock is assembled with a small amount of assembly lubricant to keep the seals lubricated and ensure smooth operation. While the shocks can technically be cycled out of the box, they're intended to be filled with your preferred shock oil before use for proper damping performance.

This is the spring combination that comes pre-installed out of the box and provides an excellent starting point for most Comp Frame and Eliminator builds.

Start with zero preload front and rear. With zero preload installed on your truck, you want it sitting near fully compressed. If it's sitting on the bump stops with stock springs, add 1/8" (~3mm) of preload. If it's still at full bump, swap the lower spring for the .5mm (blue) and set further ride height adjustments using the preload ring. If the front or rear is sitting too high, change to the .3mm (white) lower spring rate.

Emulsion Shock Filling & Assembly Guide +

Because this is an emulsion shock, you do not need to remove all of the air from the shock oil. The most important thing is to use the same filling and bleeding sequence for all four shocks — this keeps oil volume, pressure, and rebound consistent shock to shock without spring assistance.

Steps
  1. Remove the bleed screw from the top cap. Leave the screw on your driver so it's ready to reinstall later. If using Loctite 567 to help seal this screw and further prevent leaks, clean the screw now and apply a light coating of thread sealant.
  2. Carefully remove the lower rod end and bump stop.
  3. Carefully remove the complete spring stack.
  4. Reinstall the lower rod end and bump stop. Make sure the lower rod end is snug.
  5. Remove the top cap.
  6. Turn the shock upside down over a microfiber rag and slowly cycle the shaft 10–15 times to remove as much of the assembly oil from the shock as possible.
  7. With the shock shaft at full extension, fill the shock body with oil to approximately 1mm below the top edge of the body.
  8. Slowly cycle the shaft from full extension to full compression three times, finishing with the shaft at full extension. The goal isn't to remove all the air from the oil — it's to work the oil below the piston so the piston is fully submerged and the shock body is properly filled. Some air inside an emulsion shock is normal.
  9. Top off the shock oil until it's level with the top edge of the shock body or slightly above it.
  10. Reinstall the top cap and fully tighten it.
  11. Hold the shock at a slight angle with the open bleed port positioned at the highest point.
  12. Have a microfiber rag ready to catch any oil that comes out of the bleed port.
  13. Slowly compress the shock to full compression. Excess oil will bleed out through the open bleed port.
  14. As soon as the shock is fully compressed against the bump stop, reinstall and tighten the bleed screw. Make sure the shock stays at full compression while installing the bleed screw.
  15. Wipe away any remaining oil from the exterior of the shock. We recommend using a cleaner or degreaser to remove any oil residue.
  16. Hold the shock vertically in the same position used when filling the body. Slowly cycle the shock through its full stroke several times, reaching both full compression and full extension each time. When released from full compression, the shock should either remain fully compressed or rebound no more than approximately 5mm. (At full extension, the shaft may pull back into the shock body 2–3mm — this is normal with the springs removed.) If the shock rebounds more than 5mm with no springs installed, there is too much oil and/or excessive internal pressure when fully compressed, which will likely cause it to leak during use. If this occurs, return to the compression step and repeat the bleeding process.
  17. The shock is now properly filled and sealed and ready for final reassembly.
  18. With the shock shaft at full extension, remove the lower rod end and bump stop.
  19. Reinstall the complete spring stack.
  20. Reinstall the bump stop and lower rod end. The shock should now be fully assembled and ready to install on the truck. Repeat this process for the remaining three shocks.

Final Recommendation: We recommend applying blue threadlocker to the lower rod end during final assembly. We also recommend running your truck for a few outings to verify you're happy with your shock oil and spring setup before applying threadlocker, since future disassembly may be required for tuning.
